We work with the partners below to ensure your garments find a new home and stay out of the landfill.
We work with Maryland-based Fab-Tech Company to reallocate your old clothes either to customers in new markets in the U.S. and abroad, or to recyclers who convert it into insulation, carpet underlay, wipers, and more, based on each garment's quality and material type. They ensure that only 2-3% of the material they receive ends up in the trash (which is typically material that is wet, stained with paint or oil, moldy, or mildewy.)
For more background on Fab-Tech, here's a short interview with its current owner, Robert Goode:
dress for success dc
We work with the DC chapter of Dress for Success, a non-profit that provides economically disadvantaged women with professional attire to secure employment. We donate gently used professional women's clothing to Dress for Success.
Thrive DC's mission is to prevent and end homelessness by providing vulnerable individuals a comprehensive range of services to help stabilize their lives. They act as a one-stop-shop offering programs that increase stability and independence for their clients including meals, an emergency pantry, hygiene facilities, social services, and job training. They envision a city in which vulnerable individuals receive the necessary support and resources to lead fulfilling lives. We donate items like large-sized t-shirts, sweats, scrubs, blankets, and towels to them.
